Front Design

The Swedish design duo is well-known for its experimental and unconventional design process. They let themselves be inspired by animals, physics, science, materials and nature. Their innovative approach results in captivating designs that seamlessly blend artistic expression with functionality, pushing the boundaries of traditional design norms.

Experimental Process

To speak a similar design language, I did do a lot of experiments. I worked with sand, water, ash, wax and especially plaster. These diverse experiments allowed me to explore the deformation and shaping properties of each material.

Molding puddles

The carafe is shaped by molding dried puddles left by rain on the ground using plaster. This process reflects a design inspired by water, emphasizing its functional connection to the natural element.

Digitize the objects

I 3D-scanned the puddle and manipulated the mesh in meshmixer. Next, I went over to Rhinoceros 3D and added the bottleneck. Explore the 3D-scan!
